By Elizabeth Greentree Getting out of bed to exercise in the mornings is a lot easier if you know someone is waiting for you and will hold you accountable. But in your everyday life it can be hard to find someone else willing to meet up with you at ungodly hours. Just because someone thinks you're great and wants to date you doesn't necessarily meant they share your love of early mornings. In the same way, it can be difficult to try new activities such as rock climbing without someone else to do it with you. And some sports like surfing can actually be dangerous to do by yourself if you're still a novice. However, trying to join a group can be intimidating when you are a complete novice, and paying to get lessons quickly becomes expensive. One way around both these problems is join up to internet dating. No, not to try and pick up a surfer, but just to find activity partners. On the larger sites, especially the free ones, there are hundreds of people who are just looking to make new friends or learn something new, and are not necessarily looking for a romantic outcome. Online dating can be a great way to connect with people close by who share the same interests or are looking to learn something new and are happy to trade their own talents. It is best to be honest and open on your profile. Think about what you have to offer and clearly state that you are interested in an activity partner. Maybe you want to learn to rock climb, and can teach yoga. Or perhaps you just want to find someone else who wakes up at five am and is willing to ring you to make sure you have gotten out of bed. You don't even have to list what you are looking for, but just leave yourself open to be surprised by the skills other people have to share.
